Recently employees from HOP Energy and Automatic TLC teamed up with local volunteers to participate in an AmeriCares HomeFront project. A designated home in Hartford, Connecticut received much needed repairs and improvements from the team of volunteers. Joining our crew that day was Norm Abram from the PBS television program "The New Yankee Workshop" and Richard Trethewey as seen on televisions "This Old House". Our crew provided the equipment and the manpower to replace an ageing and inefficient heating system and install a safe, clean and efficient unit. Other members of our team helped install new kitchen fixtures, paint the interior walls and repair the entry stairs-all in one day!
For 5 years HOP and several of its local divisions have sponsored both the materials and the people for this community based home repair day. Volunteers have the opportunity to help those in our community that are physically or financially unable to repair their homes. All of us look forward to "rolling up our sleeves" each year for the annual HomeFront Day as much as the homeowners do.
